IP/09/262 Bruxelles, le 13 février 2009Les écoles d'Europe font preuve de créativité et d'innovation avec les projets eTwinning en ligneL'action eTwinning est une initiative de l'Union européenne qui incite les écoles à constituer des partenariats en réseau par Internet. Avec près de 50 000 utilisateurs inscrits dans toute l'Europe, de plus en plus d'enseignants européens ont prouvé qu'ils trouvent de nouvelles manières de développer l'enseignement et l'apprentissage et d'innover dans ce domaine. À l'occasion de la conférence eTwinning annuelle, qui se tiendra cette année à Prague du 13 au 15 février, la Commission européenne décernera des prix à dix projets, fleurons du jumelage scolaire en ligne. Action importante du programme de la Commission européenne pour l’éducation et la formation tout au long de la vie, eTwinning offre aux écoles d'Europe un moyen de communiquer, d'échanger des idées et de gérer des projets de collaboration en ligne. Grâce à une plateforme en ligne qui utilise des outils Web 2.0 pour faciliter la communication, l'action eTwinning est devenue une véritable communauté fondée sur la collaboration, dans laquelle les enseignants présentent des manières créatives de renforcer leur travail en classe. Depuis le lancement du programme en janvier 2005, des enseignants de 48 286 écoles se sont inscrits pour participer à l'action eTwinning et ont réalisé 11 994 projets faisant intervenir au moins deux écoles de deux pays différents. L'édition 2009 de la conférence annuelle eTwinning se tient à Prague du 13 au 15 février. Elle accueille plus de quatre cents participants, enseignants venus de toute l'Europe, délégués des services centraux et nationaux d'appui à l'action eTwinning et autres protagonistes importants de l'éducation scolaire. Le thème essentiel de la conférence sera «Créativité et eTwinning» et les orateurs incluront M. Ján Figel', commissaire européen à l'éducation, à la formation, à la culture et à la jeunesse, ainsi que le Dr. Edward de Bono, expert de la pensée latérale et ambassadeur de l'Année européenne de la créativité et de l'innovation 2009. À la veille de la conférence, le commissaire Figel’ a expliqué l'importance de l'action eTwinning en 2009 en ces termes: «2009 est l'Année de la créativité et de l'innovation, il est donc tout à fait approprié de célébrer le succès toujours plus grand de l'action eTwinning, exemple de créativité en matière d'éducation. Nous devons encourager des approches novatrices dans l'éducation pour améliorer la qualité et l'efficacité des systèmes scolaires européens et contribuer à préparer les jeunes Européens à la société et à l'économie de demain.» Le point d'orgue de la conférence sera la remise de prix à dix des meilleurs projets eTwinning de l'année scolaire 2007-2008. Les récompenses seront décernées dans trois catégories d'âge (4-11 ans, 12-15 ans et 16-19 ans), une catégorie thématique (mathématiques et sciences) et une catégorie spéciale, parrainée par la présidence française, sur l'usage de la langue française. Plus de cinq cents projets ont été présentés et évalués au regard de leur nature innovante, de leur intégration dans le programme d'études, de la collaboration menée, de l'utilisation créative des TIC et de la possibilité de les reproduire ailleurs. Les dix finalistes viennent de quarante écoles situées dans vingt-et-un pays (Belgique, Bulgarie, Chypre, Espagne, France, Grèce, Hongrie, Islande, Irlande, Italie, Lettonie, Lituanie, Luxembourg, Malte, Pologne, Portugal, République tchèque, Roumanie, Royaume-Uni, Slovaquie et Suède). Les lauréats dans les quatre premières catégorie remporteront un voyage au camp eTwinning en Grèce au mois d'avril, alors que les lauréats de la catégorie «langue française» recevront une bourse pour étudier le français, en France, cet été. The pupils from the two schools collaborate to produce films, which are used as a teaching tool when working with themes chosen from the syllabus. The media material is published and discussed by the pupils on the project blog. The jury said: Various ICT tools were included in the project in a purposeful way. The project fits in an international curriculum and could work as a model for various themes as well as for different school levels. The model of question- and comment-based project development as a basis for progressive inquiry showed the real pedagogical value of the project. The jury said: The panel thought that the basis of the project, an international theme, i.e, water, incorporated with an intercultural theme, i.e., fairytales, was innovative and appropriate. The partner choice is particularly appropriate since both partners can approach the subject with similar questions. At the same time, the project serves as good model for various other European countries. Age Category 12-15 WINNER No frontiers! Their idea was to challenge the creativity of the pupils in designing the puzzles while at the same time nurturing their mathematical skills. The jury said: The project demonstrated a very creative an innovative approach to implementing its objectives. The work consisted of two parts: in the first part, they outlined the changing of people’s food habits and tastes for the last fifty years; in the second part, they developed their own pizzeria business plans in order to develop their business know-how. The jury said: This project obviously made a significant impact on the participants and the entire community. The pupils were involved in practical work and discussing the real implementation of a novel idea. It's a fresh approach that works well with this rather difficult age group. This eTwinning project was the follow-up of a successful Comenius project. The project was well integrated in the curriculum for French as a foreign language. The jury said: We liked the project website which contains a lot of games (videos as well as descriptions) collected by the partner countries. Partners communicated via email (all collected in the TwinSpace), video conferencing and tried and evaluated each other’s games. This eTwinning project has served as a basis for a Comenius partnership project for some of the partners.
